Elkanah has 13 years of expertise in Veterinary, Livelihood, Public Health, and One Health domains. He has worked extensively in research and implementation, focusing on Sustainable Agricultural Approaches, Food Security, Livestock Utility for livelihood, Global Health Security, Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response, Risk Assessment and Management, and Climate Change. He holds a PhD in Applied Veterinary Microbiology, an MSc in Animal/Human/Ecosystem Health, and a Bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine.

Is a seasoned researcher with over 18 years of experience at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), currently serving as a principal investigator for multiple studies. He has led disease surveillance, established electronic data collection systems, and managed collaborative research projects. With over 40 published manuscripts, including six as lead author, he oversees data utilization from the Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS). A part-time biostatistics lecturer and trainer in statistical software.

Notable among his projects is the Somali Advocates for Health and Nutrition (SAHAN) Demand Creation program in Somalia, where he led the HCD efforts for 5 years to increase uptake of the services. He has also conducted HCD training sessions for various organizations, including the Delivering Sustainable and Equitable Increases in Family Planning program in Kenya.

She has led the development, management, and evaluation of food security, agriculture, and nutrition projects across East Africa, collaborating with organizations like JICA, FAO, UNICEF, and IFAD. Her expertise lies in providing advisory, technical, and capacity development skills on food security and nutrition-sensitive programs.

He has also led the development of various climate change policies, action plans, and strategies, including the Kenya Climate Change Mainstreaming Policy, County Climate Change Action Plan, Youth guideline on Just Transition for - Kenya, and Mapping Local Climate Solutions in Kenyan High, Low, and Medium Potential Counties.

He worked at Microsoft Africa Development Center in Nairobi, specializing in Azure products and SCIM-compliant solutions.

He has played pivotal roles in managing research projects focused on sexual and reproductive health (SRH), including initiatives addressing ethical issues in HIV research among adolescents.
